Ron got angry on Hermione’s behalf in deathly hallows when Hermione was reproaching Harry for being hard on lupin. Hermione is perfectly capable of defending herself to Harry, plus Harry is her best friend, save that anger for when Draco picks on Hermione !
It just spoilt the whole dynamic of the trio and i dont see anyone mentioning these scenes of protective Ron but against Harry of all people ! I know Ron and Hermione were trying to be a couple but it was just so jarring. There were times in the fifth book where Ron and Hermione were in a team against Harry ( like in the beginning when he was annoyed at them for not communicating and when they both felt he could be a teacher and he didnt) and those never felt uncomfortable the way the deathly hallow ones did.
I think it’s because of the words that there used in deathly hallows ” Dont you start on her, Ron snarled at Harry ” why would Rowling use such harsh words to describe Ron defending Hermione? She could just have made Ron try and calm the situation by saying ” Cool it Harry, Hermione’s just worried about Lupin” but to be honest i’d have preferred Ron not to take sides and be neutral pointing out that they both have valid points. Just because you re in a relationship with someone doesn’t mean you always have to agree with them.
It spoilt everything because Ron should mostly be on Harry’s side. Also how can he snarl at harry for picking on hermione when he does it to hermione too in previous books?

I don’t get mad at Ron, I get mad at the author, who (I think) wrote an artificially dramatic scene. Well, not mad, just a little disappointed. Forced conflict feels lazy.
Good books in general, though.
