It’s sort of bittersweet throughout. The ending is either bittersweet or sad, depending on the reader. 4 generations are all beautifully presented.
It’s not a “romance novel” per se but ultimate love and devotion that survives time and separation is what drives the story.

The Sight of You by Holly Miller. It’s similar to the Time Traveller’s Wife in that it has a romantic plot with a sci-fi twist (one of the main characters has premonition dreams about the people they love and so has always avoided romantic relationships).
