I assume that many cultures/languages have their own retelling of Hamlet – what are they? What is the twist?
For example, in Croatia the retelling is set in a Croatian village where the villagers try to put up a live performance of Hamlet. The plot points of Shakespeare’s tragedy are then also reflected on the characters real lives, but everything has a very humurous undetone (again, at odds with the original).
Curious about the same thing in different cultures as I would really like to check these out to contrast and compare.
Thanks!
