If anyone has any suggestions for half-memoir/half-reported books, I’d be so grateful! I feel like some in this genre could be “Homeland Elegies,” “Girlhood,” even “The Man in the White Sharkskin Suit.” I’d love some newer titles in the genre if any come to mind. 🙏

Maybe a little more biography than memoir, but I really enjoyed Hidden Valley Road by Robert Kolker. Half of the book focused on a family of which 6 of the 12 children were diagnosed with schizophrenia. The other half focused on the history of the disease itself and how the family contributed to our understanding of the disease.
Definitely recommend reviewing the trigger warnings before diving in though-it’s a tough read in some places.
