I just finished reading Dune and Dune Messiah after not reading for a long time. Watch the new movie made me intrigued, and I consumed these books very quickly.
Having said that, it seems the character arc I’m interested in ends with Dune Messiah, and I’m not totally interested in going deeper in the Dune world with new characters.
Looking for suggestions to keep me consuming.
Here are some things I enjoyed about Dune:
– Hero’s journey in Dune (first book)
– Politics
– Plot Twists
– Dark, graphic at times. The author was not holding back punches at times and ruthless decisions and schemes occurred, which made it more realistic.
– Revenge, Power
– Spiritual/Religious/Philosophical themes
– Romance
Doesn’t have to necessarily be Sci-Fi. Open to any genres.
