I have a hard time finding other authors like her, especially contemporary ones. Any suggestions?
Edit (because I always think of stuff after-the-fact): what I love most about Jackson’s work is the quiet, psychological build, like a top that starts spinning faster and faster. I’m not a huge fan of gore or stuff that’s disturbing for disturbing’s sake.

*A Head Full of Ghosts* by Paul Tremblay seems to draw a whole lot of inspiration from *We Have Always Lived in the Castle*
I recently read a really good recent haunted house horror, Tell me I’m worthless by Alison Rumfitt
