My sister and her husband are not readers (both are educated and intelligent, they just don’t like to read books). They have two young kids and I’d like them to grow up in a house with a bookshelf populated with excellent books for them to read as they get older. I don’t need suggestions for books for children, they already have those. I want to put together a collection of books for young adults and adults. I want them to see these books around the house for years then get interested and start reading at some point.

A few obvious authors that spring to mind: JRR Tolkien, Terry Pratchett, Charles Dickens, JK Rowling, Orson Scott Card. Would love to hear suggestions! 🙂
