The aspects I really liked about the movie that would make me want to read a similar novel were the gardening, the main character working in a library, her making new friends and overcoming her fears, the learning process when she started taking care of the garden and the whimsical feel of the movie that was partly caused by the narration style.
I tried searching for a similar book online but couldn‘t find anything. I have no preference for the main character‘s gender, age etc., or where the story takes place. I‘d just prefer something contemporary, if possible.
Nothing fantasy please.
