Some of my all time favourites are I capture the castle, a room with a view, Anne of green gables books 1-3, The lost art of keeping secrets.
Preferably classics/modern classics (I know tlaoks isn’t but when I read it at 14 I fully thought it was written in the 50s lol)

this is a very slow burn, but you might appreciate the cazalet chronicles by Elizabeth Jane Howard. to keep you happy while you wait for the mushy bits, it has a very similar era and vibe (imo) to capture the castle. just a much bigger canvas and cast.
My favorite romance book is The Blue Castle by L. M. Montgomery, the author of the Green Gables books.
The Prydain Chronicles by Lloyd Alexander isn’t primarily a romance, but like Anne of Green Gables there’s a heavy subplot.
I’ve been suggesting these books a lot
Half a soul
Ten thousand stitches
it’s lovely and soft
Mariana by Monica Dickens! It has some similarities with I Capture the Castle, which I also love.
You might also enjoy Eva Ibbotson’s books, e.g. The Secret Countess or Magic Flutes.
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Emma by Jane Austen
Far From The Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy
North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell
Little Women by T.S. Eliot
