I recently read a dozen or so of Borges’ short stories and really liked a lot of them—my favorites were Hakim, the Masked Dyer of Merv and The Approach to Al-Mu’tasim. I also discovered that I find reading exclusively short stories back to back to be exhausting. I prefer to be sucked in to a story over several hundred pages, so I can get invested and have something to come back to instead of essentially starting over every ten pages (not putting short stories down, I’m sure I’ll buy Borges’ Collected Fictions, but I can only do so many at a time)
So anyone got anything like that?
