Hi, so I’m looking for a romance from either the FL’s pov only or that alternates between the FL and the ML (I dislike when its morw tham two povs in a book). I don’t mind if it’s fantasy, fiction, dark romance, enemies to lovers, or YA. However, if it is fantasy, then I like it when the FL is human with no magical abilities. I do not like historical (proper historical like victorian for example, but if it a made up fantasy world that is not historically accurate then I’ll be fine with that), futuriatic, sci-fi or books like Divergent or the Hunger Games. While I usually like romance, where one falls for the other right away and they start some kind of a relationship within the first three chapters, this time, I am looking for something a little slower. I want the FL and ML to have personalities outside of just being a love interest and for them to build a relationship and romantic tension. I’m also looking for a book where the the guy has to protect her in a way be it a body guard for hire while she goes on a journey or he is forced to watch over her by her family from the shadows. Almost like a guard dog vibe personality who slowly falls for her and just wants to keep her safe. I don’t mind if he has to kill people like the villain or bandits or anything. I’m not sure what I’ll get from this post, but I’m look forward to it. Thanks in advance to all who post suggestions 😊.

consider checking out “A Court of Thorns and Roses” by Sarah J. Maas. it features a slow-burn romance with a protective male lead in a fantasy setting. the female protagonist is human, and the story focuses on their relationship development amidst danger and intrigue :3
