Hello!
As the title suggests, I want to find some Afro-fantasy or contemporary books for a high school age audience (grades 9-12) which do not include (or only brushes upon lightly) extreme acts of violence, police brutality, or other triggering events (the books should still address concerns relevant to POC, only not so graphic).
I want students to know that fantasy can serve as an allusion to the issues being faced by POC in America today, but please recommend any contemporary works that fit the above criteria 🙂
Thank you in advance!
