Suggest me a book like this song! Once More To See you – Mitski

Hello! I’m looking for a book that feels similar to the song ‘Once More To See You’ by Mitski.

For context, many of Mitski’s songs explore the notion of forbidden love, specifically the pain of knowing that you are your partners dirty secret. However, what sets OMTSY apart is that it has this soft way of conveying such powerful emotion. So overwhelmed by your partner that you can’t look directly at them. There is a heavy implication there is something shameful in this relationship, and in order for the two to keep their reputations they cannot be seen together, despite how much they want each other.

I could go on and on about this wonderful song, but I’ll cut it short. A few extra things that i’d like in this book rec:

-LGBT lovers (MLM preferred, but not required)
-Sad or bittersweet, i’m a bit of a sucker for angst lol
-This one is OPTIONAL but an older setting, I prefer fantasy and Wild West/Cowboys etc..
