I’ve always felt like nobody really makes entertainment (books/movies/shows) set on other planets, that isn’t super complex like Dune, Avatar or whatnot. I really love the idea of reading a fun adventure book about for instance a spaceship with the crew cryogenically frozen or something and then they crashland on an earth-like planet but with all new species etc. And they have to colonize, explore etc. Or something along those lines. Preferably something where all connection with earth is severed and they are on their own. The Martian was really good, not exactly what I’m looking for but still super fun (yes I’ve read Project Hail Mary).
Honestly just any adventure that is fun and gripping even if it has to be on earth would work. I just don’t want it to be big-scope, just a set amount of people, not like a huge political thing or something like Avatar.
So basically just think a fun space adventure and exploring. When I say fun I don’t mean it has to be light-hearted obviously, I just mean fun, gripping, exploration, adventure, colonization, lower-scale. I don’t want to sit and read about the politics of harvesting spices.
