    Hi there!

Huge survivor fan, and super interested in so many of the places they visit. Fiji, Vanuatu, Palau, Gabon, the Philippines, Guatemala, Cambodia, Nicaragua, etc! I know so little about these places, and would love your recommendations on non fiction (or fiction in translation) books to read from the most remote corners of the earth (or, just really interesting books about culture and history from places that aren’t USA/Europe). (think Sea People for nonfiction, for example!)

Thank you so much in advance.

    1. I recommend the Read Around The World Challenge website (https://readaroundtheworldchallenge.com) if you want to diversify your reading. It’s a site where you will find books written by authors from almost all countries in the world. You can click on a country on this world map to find books written by authors from any country – https://readaroundtheworldchallenge.com/map

Check out these lists of books written by authors from the countries that you mentioned that were recommendedforthechallenge: [Fiji](https://readaroundtheworldchallenge.com/books/country/fiji), [Vanuatu](https://readaroundtheworldchallenge.com/books/country/vanuatu), [Palau](https://readaroundtheworldchallenge.com/books/country/palau), [Gabon](https://readaroundtheworldchallenge.com/books/country/gabon), [the Philippines](https://readaroundtheworldchallenge.com/books/country/philippines), [Guatemala](https://readaroundtheworldchallenge.com/books/country/guatemala), [Cambodia](https://readaroundtheworldchallenge.com/books/country/cambodia) and [Nicaragua](https://readaroundtheworldchallenge.com/books/country/nicaragua)

If you can find it, check out “Sista, Stanap Strang!” It’s an anthology of female writers from Vanuatu, and it also talks about how difficult it is for Vanuatan authors to get published.

Also look at Hanna Alkaf, Tan Twan Eng or Selina Siak Chin Yoke for Malaysia.
