Hello, I just got a kindle and finished a Brandon Sanderson book and am now addicted to reading. I am looking for good book suggestions following these:

    \- Any genre (I personally like fantasy/horror/light scifi/supernatural)

\- I found booktok but not interested in the girly recommendations. I don’t shy away from romance. Maybe as a sub plot.

\- I don’t mind if the main character is male/female but I would like to find male ones since I have read or seen many with female. I want different perspective.

\- I love great world building, characters I can really get attached to, none predictable plot. I a man have shed tears to some books. I also have many books I read halfway because the plot was too predictable.

Thanks for anything and much appreciated!

If you like Sanderson, you could read his Mistborn trilogy. Widely praised and loved series. He has an entire extended universe called the Cosmere, so if you like his writing and read his novels in universe he’ll have Easter eggs and characters from one story in the background of another story.

For sci-fi, the Red Rising series is amazing and the final book is coming out in just under a year or so. Not super heavy on sci fi, but there is stuff like space battles, drop ships, power armor, plasma weaponry etc so if that’s not your thing then maybe not.

The Sword of Kaigen is a fantasy standalone that I have not read yet but have heard so much praise for

This is a cliche choice, but it’s cliche for a reason: the lord of the rings. I read them for the first time in the past few months (shameful of me) and they are incredible. One of the few books I recommend listening to the audiobooks along while you read, because they have voice acting and sound effects and music from the movies and it all adds to the experience in my opinion
