I’m a melancholy person, I get sad often but I always know how to cheer myself up. But I do enjoy being sad from time to time and I started reading books. I started down a rabbit hole with “Be more chill” then found another called “its kind of a funny story” by Ned Vizzini. I was gonna keep reading his books but I saw he had committed suicide and it kinda made me sad.
But I just reading more, then it was “suicide notes”, next “Speak”. And I loved the story of speak. So I found another like it called “The way I used to be” loved it so I read the sequel and loved it aswell.
I don’t want something like “All the bright places”. I can’t do it again, that book hurt me a little too much. I liked “Kind of sort of fine”, it was a good story but it was the authors first book so he hasn’t made anymore yet.
So I was hoping I can get recommendations of books similar to “Speak”/”The way I used to be” or if you think there might be a book I might like I’d really appreciate it. Nothing like “All the bight places”, please that shit broke me. I like being sad but not fully depressed.
