Looking for a book I won’t be able to put down.

I’ve read several books on best seller lists and nothing keeps my attention. Recently read the Wager and was underwhelmed. Some of the OLDER books I remember reading and losing sleep over were the Davinci code and Girl with Dragoon tattoo. Any recommendations that would fit that description. I also enjoy history books like David McCulloughs 1776.
