Recently read “Between Two Fires” by Christopher Buehlman and am itching for something similar. Just started The Blacktongue Thief by him. I liked the atmosphere of between two fires, the monsters/devils/demons, and how he wrote his characters (the girl especially).
Other books that are somewhat in that vein I’ve read are the fisherman by John Langan, the year of the witching by Alexis Henderson (though mainly the first half of the book since it has a darker vibe), and Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer. Those are stretches but the closest I’ve got. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!
