Hey everyone,
I’ve recently started a book club with some friends and one of them is “leading” our meetups by organizing our book suggestions and dates.
I’m reading the first book and I was wondering, how do I read for a book club? Do you guys highlight specific quotes and chapters and take notes?
Thanks in advance

ooh fun!! enjoy it!
to each their own, but i like to make notes of what stood out to me.
this could be –
– quotes
– characters
– choices characters make (or don’t)
– how authors write
– what you love
– what you hate
– what you wish had/hadnt been said
– what you wish had/hadn’t happened
– anything you’d like!

i personally read and take notes as i go, either in the book if it’s yours or on a separate piece of paper. write the page number in the book next to your note so you know where to find what you’re referencing.
then, i summarize what stood out to me in the chapter on a post-it and stick it at the end of the chapter.
SO because you wrote all the stuff, it basically doesn’t matter what questions are asked at your book club, you already have so much to say!
have fun!
