I think we’ve all probably been there. I’m half way through a book and I’m just not feeling it. The characters don’t appeal to me, and I don’t care about the plot. So do I DNF it, or keep reading to see if it gets better?
Younger me would always finish a book that I started, but something I realized is that I have never found a book that redeems itself in the second half. If I hated it in the middle, I always hated it at the end. Probably even more so, because of the pain of reading something that I don’t want to read, but feel obliged to finish.
Are there any books that you have read that you disliked in the middle, and were tempted to DNF, but that you ended up liking after you had read the whole thing?
