I have tried reading the original translated Dante’s Inferno (Ciardi’s and Mark Musa’s) 3 times now, but the style of poetry is just too difficult, boring, non-evocative for me to actually absorb the story as I would like to. I know bits and pieces from the story through hearing about it and it genuinely fascinates me, so I’m curious to know if there is a version of it that is more straightforward and story like, rather than poetry. It should BE the same story, just in a more legible format. Kind of like how Romeo and Juliet (and other Shakespearen works) have been adapted to story/non poetry versions. Does this exist??
