High-quality fiction ideally, but nonfiction would work too. I heard recently that something like 80+% of the American population of the Wild West era was back east, but 80+% of the fiction from that time is about the people in the west. And thought, “Hey, that’s not a bad point.” Scorsese proved the era could be interesting with *Gangs of New York*, so I’d love to read about life in the big cities back east in the 1860s to 1910s, let’s say!
