Hi all, dusting off my Reddit account in hopes someone will have some ideas for me. I was huge into reading as a kid but fell off as I entered my teens. Now I’m entering my mid-twenties and need help finding things to read as a big kid.
My interests lie in fiction. I love a good fantasy or science-fiction adventure, or just an adventure. Things I loved as a kid include:
-rangers apprentice series
-chronicles of narnia
-the unwanteds series
-the hobbit
-Hatchet
-anything with dragons and magic and stuff.
As I picked up reading again, I recently read “the long way to a small, angry planet” by Becky Chambers, which I loved, and fit my want for something with the spirit of YA novels that fits my age range better without being excessively wordy and boring to slog through. Thats really what I’m looking for, something interesting that connects with what I loved as a kid and isn’t a chore to read. I’m not the type of guy who will get through the silmarillion, despite my love of world building.
I don’t really have any content restrictions, so any material is ok even if it’s more intense or adult than what I read as a kid.
I’d love any recommendations, especially if you have series in mind. Thanks!
TLDR:
Looking for mid-fast paced fiction that is reminiscent of my favorite YA books.

Have you tried [Mistborn](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/fff4a412-89f6-46ad-b75e-bd21a626e730) by Brandon Sanderson?
