For some reason, I love books where a male protagonist initially acts completely indifferent towards a female character who fancies him. His level of indifference takes a very long time to progress, but eventually after a long time, he begins to open up to this female character.
I’ve found these books usually aren’t romance, and instead focus on something else while this relationship is slowly building behind the scenes. If anything comes to mind, please let me know.
Not direct romance novels if possible 🙂
