As the title says, I’m looking for a book category and I can’t find it. I’ll describe it in hope that some of you can help me find it or suggest some great books in this field. Thank you in advance.
The books I’m looking for are real documentaries, a journal if you will, of people like Hazen Audel from the series Primal Survivor. For example, Hazen is in Laos and starts his journey on the Mekong River. We follow his journey through the wilderness and see him encounter animals and native tribes along the way. He documents his travels and how he set up camp in different locations, setting fires and fishing and cooking the food he caught.
I would love books that document journeys like these but am struggling to find where to even look for them as I’m not sure what to type in to find it.
Please help me. Any suggestions would be brilliant and appreciated. Thank you.

You might want to look up epistolary books. That is the genre of writing in diary form. You could look up fiction and nonfiction of that genre and see what you like.
Travelogues, travel literature, travel memoir would be the key words. “Survival memoir” if you want dangerous journeys like being lost in deserts or jungles
