I have been a fan of Taylor Jenkin Reid since I read TSHOEH, even though I know she is not the best author out there, I love how she tries to bring something new in all her books, how she brings a way of story telling, and well written characters. It is usually a breezy read, a book you can pick any day, and finish it off without any efforts, and sometimes when you have read complex books, such breezy reads seem very essential to just, breathe yk?

Anyways, I read After I do, after I finished TSOEH and One true loves, I wanted something light and I picked this one up, and it thoroughly surprised me. I haven’t heard much people talk about this book, so I thought I would post my own opinions about it.

The book is overall setup in the background of a failing marriage, but what makes it interesting is the completely different take on relationships and marriage. We often make tiny checkboxes in our mind, on how relationships and marriages should be, we think, this is how it should work out, this is how he/she should behave, we consider things some things to be right and wrong. We often build these images how it is supposed to feel. However, we often forget, while we try to put our own relationships or potential relationships in those boxes, that there is no right or wrong way for one. It completely depends on two individuals and how they want their relationship to work. End of the day, what matters is you stay happy in a relationship. This book gave me a totally different perspective on being in love and relationships, even though it is cheesy and cliche at times, it is written well, and the characters are written really beautifully. We see flaws in them, we see them making mistakes, we root for them to be together, and not at the same time. It talks about love and romance, and it talks about the loneliness of being single and also the peace in being single.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, do give it a go, if you are looking for a breezy read.

    Thanks.
