Hi, I recently read the Help by Kathryn Stockett and loved the writing style! Can someone suggest fiction books written in similar style? I really liked the perspectives of the three characters, but also mostly felt it was really balanced between plot and character development and I was just flying through the pages. I love fantasy books but happy to read anything else as well.
I know it’s probably an unpopular opinion, but I heavily dislike books that are overly descriptive or deal too much with the characters’ internal ruminations. I prefer plot centered books where each page progresses the story significantly.
Examples of books I liked: Silo book 1, Harry Potter, Circe (despite being character centric it was beautifully written).
Examples of books I disliked: The wheel of time (oh God the descriptions of everything were SO long), the long walk, My year of rest and relaxation, the midnight library, anything I’ve tried by Colleen Hoover
