Hi everyone! We’re headed on a roadtrip this week and will be spending a lot of time in the car.
My spouse and I both studied ecology in college and have careers related to science, so I’m hoping to get some good nonfiction reccomendations to listen to along the way.
I read a lot of non fiction, but I don’t necessarily want to relisten to a book I’ve read already. He has an interest in urban ecology especially, but doesn’t read very often. I’m looking for a book about ecology or biology that you enjoyed.
Some examples of books we have enjoyed before:
Darwin Comes To Town
Nature Obscura
The Beak Of The Finch
Crossings (Ben Goldfarb)
The Gene
Some examples of books that fit this description that we didn’t really enjoy:
Fens, Bogs & Swamps
Rooted (Lyanda Haupt)
America The Beautiful?
Basically biology / ecology / life science related non fiction.
Thank you!

World on the Wing is an amazing book about the new science of migratory birds, and what they’ve discovered now that they can finally track the smallest of them. It’s beautifully written and deals with the ecology and habitat of migration. I didn’t even think I was interested in birds and I couldn’t put it down.
