I’m looking for recommendations for my 8yo kid who has suddenly become a voracious reader. She has read the magic tree house series and many of the wings of fire series books. We have also read Zoey and sassafras to her when she was younger. She recently also read a wrinkle in time. I would really appreciate any age appropriate non-fiction books since she hasn’t read any.

The Horrible History books are excellent, and a great way to get kids actually interested in history

I read so many of the Pony Pals series when I was 8, but that was in the 90’s so no idea if they’d be available now. I’m sure there are a million similar series if your daughter is into horses. I think I also read the abridged Black Beauty at that age, but it was pretty brutal

Edit: Have you heard of the Dear America/My Name is America series? They’re historical fiction books for kids writtenin diary format. I devoured them as a kid, but I recommend reading one first to make sure it’s appropriate for her maturity level
