    I recently found out I love books after not reading anything for years. I especially love fantasy and dystopian books. And I actually don’t prefer stand alone books. I would much rather have an entire series of books to read. Some books I’m interested in currently are The Chronicles of Narnia, The Hobbit/LOTR, The Earthsea Collection, The Stormlight Archives, The Wheel of Time, and The Hunger Games. I’d also love to get into futuristic society books. Based on that, what other series would y’all recommend??

      The Expanse Series by James S.A. Corey

      Roughly 200-300 years in the future with three different factions of humans based on where they are born in the solar system – Earth, Mars, or the Outer Planets/Belt. The dystopia element of it is the spoiler. The series starts out with a mystery and that is solved quickly enough in the series and then things take off from there as to what it all means and how humanity will evolve after.

      Dave Eggers:

      * The Circle
      * The Every

      This is very near future Dystopia around Silicon Valley/Tech and its impact on our social and political lives. I liked The Every better than The Circle as it explores many of the themes of tech that can be corrosive that people get sucked into. It points out that the Tech companies, probably even more than say Oil companies, have a unique form of power over the population. One only needs to look at the Smart Phone with constant wireless connectivity to centralized servers as a “wet dream” of what Orwell was describing in 1984 with the Telescreen that constantly watched and fed propaganda.
