Got two requests, wildly different but both are itches I’d like to scratch. I’d greatly prefer buying ebooks from non-Amazon sources but will consider Kindle titles if there’s no other way. Physical books are OK as well as long as my library can get them.
I’m all for comedic or funny in these requests. It doesn’t have to be laugh-a-minute slapstick, but I’d rather have a grin than a furrow.
**Fish out of water, but in the peerage/aristocracy.** Someone who’s definitely not aristocratic material somehow inherits a title, a manor, a butler, etc. and has to figure it out. Sorta like The Rook or Starter Villain but instead of “you’re in charge of a secret urban fantasy spy agency” or “you’re a realistic supervillain”, it’s “you’re a baroness/knight/prince/etc.” I’m not too huge on swords and sorcery but I’m OK with “not actually a real country” situations. Big points if it’s actually set in modern Britain or other constitutional monarchies/aristocracies.
**The aliens have a point, why not let them blow up earth?** Been watching too much Gundam and fusing it with Yahtzee Croshaw’s fiction novels. There’s gotta be something out there where the protagonist wants to help the aliens screw over humanity, for good or bad reasons, and hilarity ensues.
