I started reading Interesting Facts About Space today and have never immediately identified with a character like this in my life and I must have more of it (the internal monologs especially). I’ve already added Convenience Store Woman to my list.
I’m not generally huge on romance, though I don’t mind that it’s there. No triggers.
Note:
I want stories with autistic/ND characters, but I do not want their neurodivergence to be the point of the story. I also absolutely do not want an underdog type story about ‘overcoming their limitations’ and at the end of the story theyve learned to mask enough to appease people or some bullshit like that. Other characters don’t have to like them, but I really need some ‘stay true to who you are’ vibes in my life right now.
