I am looking for books like the Harry Potter series but with darker, more mature themes. Because, while I am currently rereading the Harry Potter series for the billionth time, I feel like I’m growing out of the series and I want to explore more adult fantasy and science fiction.

The Magicians is exactly this.
{{Vita Nostra}}
The Dresden files audiobooks specifically
This is absolutely still teenage (in terms of characters but also the feel of the books), but it is darker and deals with adult themes so I thought I’d mention anyway – Naomi Novak’s Scholomance series. They’re really great too!
Johnathan Strange and Mr Norell
*The Dresden Files* series, by Jim Butcher
* Wizard works as a private detective in Chicago, helps out the local police. Over eighteen books (so far), two short story anthologies, and nine (I believe) graphic novels, he has encountered “Demons, werewolves, ghosts, faeries, fallen angels, Black Court vampires, Red Court vampires, White Court vampires, cultists, necromancers, zombies, specters, jann…”and the list goes on. Great banter, great action scenes, excellent character development, and no one is safe, not even the MC.
*Rivers Of London/Peter Grant* series, by Ben Aaronovitch
* Rookie constable in London, fresh out of his probationary period, is assigned to the unit that deals with “weird bollocks”.
