Looking for a book that is so detailed and descriptive that it feels like I’m there. Bonus points if it’s set in the 1950s-1970s. I just finished 11/22/63 by Stephen King and am in withdrawal.
I first thought of this book when just looking at your title, so it is a time travel book in a literal sense. Reading the body text of your post, I’d say it still fits: [Kindred by Octavia E. Butler](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/60931.Kindred), set in 1970s when it was written, about a woman pulled back in time to the 1800s. The characters and setting all just feel so real!
