I LOVED The Chalk Man and Penpal. I prefer horror with a human antagonist and mounting suspense. I’m not easily triggered so I’m not concerned with that. A dash of mystery is nice at times too but I want to read something that causes me to look behind me if I’m reading it alone.
The stories that have hit the hardest for me usually involve loss of innocence and the bigger picture isn’t completely clear until the end.
I don’t know if any of that makes sense but all help is appreciated
