As title says, books that inspired other great books of maybe changed the literature world forever.
All books are distinct in their own way but there are books that may inspire the author or author might take some elements from that book and creates one of his own book.

So Perks of Being a Wallflower mentioned a lot of books, that’s how I discovered Catcher in the Rye, To Kill a Mockingbird and how reading these books affected Charlie’s relationship w his English teacher. So kinda snowballed my way through.. So prolly not inspired but some books were mentioned..

In Cold Blood invented both the true crime genre and massively influenced the New Journalism movement, which in itself influenced the Gonzo movement.
I remember studying Pamela as the birth of the Modern novel at University, I remember nothing other than it was a slog. But I guess that must be pretty influential.
The Bible inspired literally countless books. Like, thousands of years of books.
Well, it’s a short story, but you could say that Jorge Luis Borges “Pierre Menard, Author of the Quixote” is based on Don Quixote.
