I love Link’s short fiction—she’s one of the most original and mesmerizing writers of dark fantasy. In fact, I would go so far as to say “Stone Animals” is one of the greatest short stories of the past 30 years. However, I just could not finish The Book of Love. This, of course, is my failing as a reader. I got 400 pages in and I just can’t continue. Anyone want to spoil what happens in the last 200 pages? 😂
