Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this! I’m looking to read a book but the problem is that I dislike longwinded descriptions. For example if the author describes the setting for long amounts of time or the texture of something etc I will start losing interest. I think they take up too much space as my brain doesn’t know what to do with them and i start getting uninterested. Some people told me it feels like watching a movie but it just doesn’t happen for me.

More information on what I’ve liked in the past: My favourite author is Kafka (the themes present in his work just hit very close to home) and I’ve also really enjoyed The Great Gatsby but otherwise i prefer plays in terms of writing style such as No Exit by Jean Paul Sartre. As for topics I don’t really care but I wouldn’t want to read something that’s primarily romance as I don’t care much for it. I do enjoy macabre themes so don’t be shy to throw whatever at me. For example I really liked American Psycho (although my head did turn off at most of the descriptions of the various products he owns. Luckily I’m interested in fashion so it didn’t make me quit) I’m a German speaker but I can also read in English so I don’t mind the language of the original text.
