I’m currently working on a video essay that inspects works of fiction that (potentially) influenced the Dragon Age series… and naturally I’ve stumbled upon something like the Wheel of Time, A Song Of Ice and Fire, or the good old Lord of the Rings. But are there any other works that might have influenced DA? And aside from that, is there anything that might be especially interesting for someone who likes Dragon Age?
I’m also interested in what makes the Wheel of Time so special to so many – especially when considering that I often hear that people “dislike” reading the books, yet call them their absolute favourites.
Which brings me to my last point… I’d just like to hear what piece of fiction (or non-fiction) people like the most, and why. I’m especially interested in more obscure books, to be honest (like the Avatar Chronicles by Conor Kostick, for example, which I loved as a child) but anything goes, really. I think the more intriguing part is ***why*** it’s your favourite book, not what exactly it is. This includes comics, graphic novels, and manga, too.
