Isn’t this one of the cutest books ever written? How beautiful is the perspective of pure innocence… For me it is the best fiction book I have ever read. The most deepest answers of life are actually found in a child’s perspective.

    You agree?
Can you recommend me please more books like this! 🙂 A Children’s book fit for adults.

    1. I’m not as fond of *The Little Prince* as I used to be, but I still understand what people like about it and love your question, so rather than being negative, here’s my suggestion for you:

The ***Moomin*** books by **Tove Jansson** are children’s literature with an extra layer for adults. In fact, when they first came out in the 1940s-60s, reviewers were unsure what the target audience was supposed to be. This ambiguity was widely criticised at the time – today, it would likely be considered an asset.

The first books are fun adventures with a bit of commentary for adult readers between the lines. *Moominland Midwinter* is a reflective journey that completely blurs the lines between genres of literature. *The Exploits of Moominpappa* is, among other things, a brilliant parody of autobiographies. *Tales from Moominvalley* is a collection of short stories, most of which are children’s stories only on the surface and just as – if not more – valuable to adults.

I recommend reading them all in order of appearance (although *The Moomins and the Great Flood* can be skipped, it was more like a trial run and is no doubt the weakest of the series) but it is also possible to jump in with any of the books. If you happen to enjoy biographies, reading Tove Jansson’s biography alongside the Moomins is very enlightening and opens up new perspectives on her children’s books – but they can, of course, also be enjoyed completely on their own.

I think they have the same pure and innocent perspective that makes *The Little Prince* so cute. I think – I certainly hope – you’ll like them!
