I cant remember the name of a childhood book, heres the plot for anyone that might be able to help me:
A father to 2 kids goes missing after he built a time machine, so they copy his blueprints and build one too and follow him through time to the jurassic period. Once they get there they are bombarded with danger, and get swooped up by a giant pterodactyl/ vulture (cant remember) and have to escape the nest. After their escape they meet this weird elephant looking creature that speaks in broken sentences and non-sensical words (creatures name is the title of the book) and this creature aids them in traversing the dangers of this time to find their father. They eventually reunite and return home.
Thats as much as I remember and I really need some help 🙂
