Hi! I’m a Mortuary Science major looking for nonfiction books on death, grief, or funeral care, preferably memoirs, but any nonfiction is good, but please no true crime.
Some I’ve read and liked:
•I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jeanette McCurdy
•Life’s That Way by Jim Beaver
•A Mother’s Reckoning by Sue Klebold
•Working Stiff by Dr. Judy Melinek
I’ve also read Caitlin Doughty’s memoir, but I wasn’t big on it.
I’d like memoirs from within the industry, or anything that tackles grief or grief psychology.
TIA!

The writer you’re looking for is Thomas Lynch, the book is The Undertaking: Life Studies from the Dismal Trade. Lynch has published many books, but primarily works as an undertaker.
