I’m currently toying with a story idea that I want to write where the main character is alone in a strange, surreal land and is generally exploring. I’m struggling with how this will actually work in practice, so I want to get some inspiration. My main criteria for a book recommendation are fiction and a lone protagonist. Bonus points for surreal fiction or first person and/or present tense perspective.
