I just finished “Silent Patient.” From the start, I found this gripping and quite interesting; I couldn’t stop reading it once I started, and I was anxious to know what would happen after every page. But I was extremely disappointed with the ending. In my opinion, the ending was too rushed; it was like the author had some urgency to finish this novel. I mean, “Theo” being the one that caused all of it to happen is quite foolish. There are many questions in my mind after reading this. If anybody can explain them to me, it would be helpful.
1) What happened to Alicia? Did she die?
2) What happened to Theo? Did he confess all of it?
3) Why did Theo return diary to Alicia if he knew it was concrete evidence against him?
