Since you mentioned *Earth Abides* and that book involves survivors, not really a “everyone else is suddenly gone idea”, try out *The Postman* by David Brin, a similar post-apocalyptic situation. Incredible story, but it’s not a “last person on Earth” plot like you are requesting

*Severance* by Ling ma is AMAAAZING! I seriously couldn’t put it down!
The story cuts between a present dystopian setting and her past in book manufacturing. The themes are a bit on the nose but I really enjoyed it. Its not entirely last man on earth and not totally no-“zombie” but it is dystopian and eerie, could be worth giving a go I reckon!
