I’m a sucker for a good YA. The books I’ve chosen lately have been becoming a real big “Hit or miss” I really want a book that’s similar to Out of The Blue by Jason June or The Sky Blues by Robbie Couch. I love something with a good mystery and contemporary setting. I’m fine with low fantasies but I tend to zone out when it comes to high fantasies. Give me the books that made you sad, mad, happy, or sick to the stomach. I’m sure I’ll yell through all of it. Please suggest me a good YA novel. 🙂

Just Ash by Sol Santana. Not mystery but very queer!
The Simon Snow series by Rainbow Rowell
One last stop .
You may like:
* Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. There’s mystery, and I felt an awful lot of emotions while reading this series.
* Blackfish City by Sam J. Miller. Futuristic, yet somehow retro feeling setting.
I have [a longer comment on a previous post](https://www.reddit.com/r/suggestmeabook/comments/15wiz21/lgbtq_book_recs/jx8yu4x/) listing sci fi and fantasy with good queer representation. None of these are in contemporary settings, though.
The One Who Eats Monsters by Casey Matthews.
Felix Ever After or Simon Vs The Homosapien Agenda
A good graphic novel is Northranger. It has the mystery element and contemporary setting, and is inspired by Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey. M/M romance set on a ranch in Texas
