So I have two friends that I rely on for suggestions for books. When I asked about House of Leaves I got two very drastically different opinions. So as a guy who likes thriller and horror and is a very open minded reader is this book worth reading or not? Please no spoilers!!!!!!

Yes it’s worth it.
No spoilers. I read it earlier this year and quite enjoyed it, but I must say it’s the hardest book in the world to pin down if someone will enjoy the recommendation or hate it. I say since you sound intrigued at the premise, it’s worth trying. Find a copy and try the first 50 pages or so. If you find yourself gripped by what’s being hinted at, I think you’ll love the descent into this story. If you find yourself a little bored, but still intrigued – try a bit more, with the knowledge that the author is intentionally putting speedbumps and roadblocks in your face to help you feel a little more lost in a maze, maybe that will help motivate you. If you’re completely bored out of your skull and roll your eyes even at the parts that are supposed to excite you, maybe it’s not the book for you
