I just finished “A Rome of One’s Own” Emma Southon and really loved how readable it was. It was super conversational and funny. I have her other book, “A Fatal Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” next on my list, but I’m wondering if there’s more great historical non-fiction books out there in this same style?
Also kind of separate but related: any good books about the Paris catacombs?
