I am reading a book where a girl gets assaulted, and up to that point the bad guy was really looking like a good guy, si it came something like a surprise to me

So I was wondering if there is any book where the writer tried to “force” the victim later on to have any kind of interaction with the offender in any way. Revenge, reconciliation, anything. I am curios if there is anything like this, and how did they approach this very risky subject
